Undefeated Pryce Taylor vs Ukraine Olympian Tsotne Rogava
Brooklyn heavyweight Pryce Taylor (13-0, 8 KOs) will fight for the vacant North American Boxing Federation heavyweight title on November 7 at Kiva Auditorium in Albuquerque, New Mexico, meeting 2020 Ukraine Olympian Tsotne "Mr. T" Rogava (13-1, 8 KOs) in a ten-round main event that will stream live.
It is the first title fight of Taylor's professional career. The NABF heavyweight belt has previously been held by Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Ray Mercer and Wladimir Klitschko, among others.
"I can't wait to win the NABF belt," Taylor said. "I've always believed I could be a champion and now I have my shot. It's been a life goal for me. A win should get me in the WBC ratings and that's when I can get some big fights."
Taylor is listed at 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, Rogava at 6-foot-3 and 265. Both men had extensive amateur backgrounds. Taylor has already gone the ten-round distance as a professional.
His manager, Keith Sullivan of Sullivan Management, described the bout as part of a long-term plan.
"Pryce Taylor continues to climb the heavyweight ladder, and competing for the NABF Heavyweight Championship is another significant step toward our ultimate goal of a world title," Sullivan said. "Pryce has the size, talent, discipline, and determination to become a major force in the heavyweight division. We have been deliberate on building his career, and now he's entering the stage where every fight carries greater significance. This is not just about winning a belt – it's about making a statement that Pryce Taylor is a legitimate future contender for the heavyweight championship of the world. We believe the sky is the limit for this young man."
Sullivan, a former New York State Athletic Commission Deputy Commissioner, also manages three-time, two-division world champion Miyo Yoshida (19-5, 1 KO), Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga (21-2, 21 KOs), Serbian heavyweight Sanel Hasanovic (10-1-1, 8 KOs), Staten Island light heavyweight prospect Artan Iseni (6-0, 5 KOs), Bronx NYPD officer Nisa Rodriguez (4-1, 2 KOs), lightweight Fei Faiva (6-0-1, 4 KOs) and junior featherweight Brooklyn "The Big Deal" Barwick (5-1, 5 KOs). He co-manages IBF welterweight world title challenger Paddy "The Real Deal" Donovan (16-2, 12 KOs) and Donovan's cousin, middleweight Jim Donovan (2-0, 1 KO), with coach and former world champion Andy Lee.
